President's Message

March 10, 2016

Hello membership,

As our AORN year comes to an end, it is time to think about next year! You should be receiving the ballot for officers and the Board members for the 2016 – 2017 year. Please take a moment to vote. There are opportunities for write ins should you know of someone who you think would make a good officer/Board member; perhaps yourself?! We welcome new individuals and new ideas.

We had a fun year starting with a spectacular wine tasting event in the fall. Each month at our meeting, we heard from a variety of surgeon’s about different new procedures and treatments. Our celebration of perioperative Nurse Week was successful. We introduced nursing students to the perioperative world and awarded four monetary awards to help finance their schooling.

On April 13th at St. Agnes, we will have our last CE meeting for the year with Valerie Fisher from Health Workforce Initiative. She will be giving us an insight to what efforts are occurring in the Valley to increase healthcare occupations. It should be very enlightening. Hope you can join us.

Please check our website for additional information. csjvaorn.com

Thanks for a great year and for the opportunity to serve as your President!
