President's Message

Dear AORN Members,
Welcome back, we have many new and exciting events planned this year. We kicked off the year with Dr. Sian talking about skin cancers and ways to try and avoid skin damage. I encourage everyone to look at our local website at www.csjvaorn.com this will keep you updated on upcoming events, board minutes, and the point system sheets. Our scholarship applications are located on the website and I encourage members to give it to student nurses working in their areas.
October 20th we will be holding our annual fall workshop, titled International Outreach. This event will be a half day workshop featuring Dr. Clayman, Dr. Witt, Dr. Young, and Anna Jean McDaniel RN covering all aspects of going into foreign country. November 17th we will once again be hosting our Open House at Summit Surgical. We are always looking for volunteers to help out, just let one of the Board members know or your hospital representative. We are planning some new exhibits for the open house, watch the website for information
Congress this year will be held in Anaheim, California, March 30-April 3, 2008. CSJV AORN is making some changes this year and I encourage everyone to get involved. If you have any questions or input please contact myself or any of the board members. I would like to thank the members for allowing me to serve as your President for a second year and be working with a great group of nurses.
